Many online businesses today in the Philippines had poor customer support experiences. But you should know better. You will have many happy and loyal customers if you follow the basic guidelines for managing orders on your online business. Customer service!

How to manage orders effectively

  1. Group your orders

Note The Pareto Principle – 80% of outcomes come from 20% of actions. Identify and group orders you can pack and ship immediately and there is a great chance that you will be able to satisfy 80% of your customers with 20% of the effort. Check inventory filter options on your e-commerce platform – they were made to help you manage and organize the orders for processing and shipping.

  1. Use the first-in, first-out rule

Within each group, take care of the customers who were first to order to ensure they get their products timely. Make sure they can receive the goods as soon as possible so they will not be willing to visit a brick-and-mortar store instead.

  1. Keep a close eye on inventory

Look for a simple way to track your inventory without needing to walk through the warehouse counting your products. Spend one day (only one day!) to browse through the last 6 months of transactions and calculate average sales per product. Based on that, set the minimum stock and make sure you will not lose a chance to sell your best-selling products.

  1. Deal with the shipping effectively

As a general rule, try to ship the product on the same day your buyer pays to prevent problems or challenges. Most of the e-commerce platforms automate the creation of shipping orders and can order a pick-up automatically for you so make sure to browse through available plugins and configuration options.

  1. Always attach the tracking number

A tracking number is a dependable way for your customer to follow up on their order’s status without even contacting you.
